Graduate Recruitment Fair 2017
Cardiff Metropolitan University is proud to bring you the Graduate Recruitment Fair for 2017, aimed at all students looking for graduate opportunities, internships and work experience. The event is free to attend and will provide an excellent space for you to network with a wide variety of local, regional and national employers who currently have opportunities for students and graduates.
Why should I attend?
This fair is ideal for students who are seeking graduate roles, short or long term internships, work experience, further study or simply want some seasonal work.
It's important for you to keep an open mind and think of this event as an opportunity to consider a range of different career paths. The attending organisations have been specifically invited because they have 'live' opportunities to discuss and many of these will be open to students of all academic disciplines.
Here are some of the other key reasons why you should attend:
- To gain a greater understanding of the sectors and industries that you might be interested in working in
- To enhance your skills by sourcing
real-life work experience
- To understand the skills required to succeed in your chosen career path and use this information to make informed module choices

Who will be attending?
A wide variety of organisations have been invited to the event in order to meet the range of career ambitions across all five schools. As a result, there will be a good mix of opportunities available on the day. The event is listed on CareerHub and will be updated regularly as employers confirm their attendance – so keep checking back for new attendees!
As well as the exhibitors, there will also be some employer presentations on the day. These will be added to the CareerHub events section once confirmed so keep checking back for updates.
For students based on Llandaff Campus, there will be a regular bus service departing from the bus stop at the front of campus to take you to and from the event. These will be leaving roughly every 30 minutes commencing from 10:45am.
How to make the most of the fair
Register online – Sign up for the event on CareerHub and receive the latest information, including a copy of the Event Guide prior to the day.
Browse the exhibitors – Check back here for a final list of attendee's closer to the event and select key the employers you would like to speak to.
Impress exhibitors with your research -
Take some time to research the companies that particularly interest you. Speaking knowledgeably about them on the day has proven to be successful for students in the past and you are much more likely to be offered a role!
Plan your day – Use the Event Guide to understand where the employers will be positioned in Archers' Arena and plan your route.
Get your CV and LinkedIn profile ready – The employer may want to see what skills and experience you have and may ask for a CV or LinkedIn address. The Careers Service regularly run CV and Linked in workshops so check CareerHub for the next available session so you can be fully prepared.
Drop by and see the Careers Service – The Careers Service will have a drop in area at the fair for any queries you have. This could be a quick chat about your career or a chance for a consultant to look at your CV.
