GO Wales at Cardiff Metropolitan University

Now is the time to give your employability a boost.

What is GO Wales: Achieve through Work Experience Programme?

Our project can support you to help improve your prospects for that job after university.

We support by finding you work tasters, job shadowing or work placements that are completely tailored to you and to fit around you, your life, your studies and commitments.

We work with you one to one and will mentor you to find out the best option for your work experience opportunity. We are here to support you and help you grow in confidence and perhaps try new opportunities you wouldn't have otherwise considered.

Visit our GO Wales checker to register your interest.

Why choose GO Wales?

We are a friendly team, based within the Careers Service. We love our jobs and helping students to realise their potential. Don’t take our word for it though, here are some things that students have said about our project:

Since starting my one to one support sessions I feel I have improved already. After only a couple of months I feel my mind-set has changed and I now have the confidence and self-belief to not let my disability get in the way, and explore my career options

With the help of GO Wales I have made new contacts that will aid me in reaching my desired goal

GO Wales were very flexible with appointments which I found very useful as there was no added pressure on top of university work

Who can we support?

We are a project funded through the European Social Fund and have eligibility criteria to receive our support. To be able to come onto the programme you must be a student is under 25 years old, studying full time and answer yes to at least one of the following:

  • I am disabled or have a Work Limiting Health Condition
  • I am from a black and minority ethnic background
  • I am from a care background
  • I have caring responsibilities for example for children, relatives or dependants
  • I am from a low higher education participation neighbourhood
