Learning Development Officer - Blended Learning
Room number: M0.01
Extension number: 5978
I have worked in the Learning and Teaching Development Unit at Cardiff Metropolitan University since September 2013. My main focus has been on the transition to the new virtual learning environment Moodle. My role involves planning, developing and implementing blended learning solutions. I enjoy meeting new staff and organising events such as the Moodle Roadshow and LTDU Conference.
Before joining Cardiff Metropolitan University I was the IT Trainer at the University of Wales, Newport for nearly 5 years where I also gained my Master's degree in Education and ICT. My role involved supporting staff and students by designing and delivering introductory to advanced IT courses. Prior to this I was an Office Manager and in house IT Trainer for a private training company.
My background is in developing and delivering IT training in the public and private sectors. I have a BSc (Hons) Computer Science with Spanish for Business degree and hold a PGCE (FE) teaching qualification from Cardiff University. I have various IT qualifications including Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) and ECDL Advanced. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
In my free time I enjoy keeping fit by attending Zumba classes and spending time with my family.
