Are the Clinics open to the public?
Yes. The Sports Massage and Physiotherapy Clinics are open to the public plus the staff and students of the University.
Where are the Sports Massage and Physiotherapy Clinics?
The clinics are located inside the National Indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC) on the Cyncoed Campus at Cardiff Met. To view a map of the campus please click here.
Where can I park my car on the Cyncoed Campus?
There are designated labelled car parking bays for Sports Medicine clients located directly outside NIAC. These bays are provided free of charge for our clients. On arrival please park your car in one of these bays and report to NIAC reception to obtain a car park voucher.
Are the Physiotherapy and Sports Massage Clinics just for sports minded people?
No. Physiotherapy and Sports Massage can also benefit non-sporting individuals:

Do I need Sports Massage or Physiotherapy?
If you have sustained a sporting/non-sporting joint or muscular injury then we would advise you book to see a Physiotherapist in the first instance. If you are suffering from sports related tightness or are suffering from stress, are feeling tense or have tired and aching muscles then we recommend you see a Sports Massage Therapist first.
Our qualified staff will assess your needs and advise you on your recovery and maintenance plan.
When should I see an Osteopath?
If you have sustained a sporting/non-sporting joint or muscular injury then we would advise you book to see a Physiotherapist in the first instance. For further information on our Osteopathy service please click here.
What should I wear to my appointment?
We advise all clients to wear loose clothing. This will aid the practitioners to carry out their assessments.
Can I book a Sports Massage if I am pregnant?
Clients who are pregnant can receive massage treatment, however if it is your first pregnancy you must be post 16 weeks and for your second pregnancy post 12 weeks.
Can young people book an appointment for Sports Massage or Physiotherapy?
Yes - but clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Is there a waiting area for my appointment?
Yes. There is a designated waiting area for Sports Massage clients located within the Clinic
Physiotherapy clients wait in the NIAC reception seating area.
The Track Cafe is also located in the NIAC reception area serving Costa coffee and hot/cold snacks.
