Cardiff School of Art & Design hosts a growing number of international students from across the globe, who have access to a full range of facilities (workshops with specialist machinery and technology, together with dedicated studio spaces spread over two buildings and 8 floors) and benefit from the interdisciplinary learning that is inherent as part of their course. Through this, students are encouraged and are motivated to gain and develop the necessary employability knowledge and skills to become global players. In addition, Cardiff School of Art & Design is active in organising student trips abroad, which allows opportunities for students to experience other cultures, customs, norms and practices. Over 200 students benefited from going abroad (which included exploration visits to China, India, Morocco and South Korea) in this academic year.
The School also values the exciting opportunities that international collaborations provide and to this end is a partner to notable global institutions including Samsung Art & Design Institute (SADI, South Korea) and Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT, Egypt). Moreover, staff at Cardiff School of Art & Design are engaged in a range of internationally excellent and world leading research, commercial activity, industry collaborations and community engagements.
