Biography

Peter spent twenty five years serving in the Royal Air Force; during this time he served not only in the UK but also spent many years overseas, including a total of nine years in Cyprus. He was fortunate to be selected for a unique squadron that supported numerous missions for across the globe and he has literally travelled around the world. His favourite places to visit include Hawaii, Calgary and New Orleans.

Following his exploits in the RAF he worked in Bristol in a freight forwarding role and in Chepstow as an Operations Manager for a Tesco support services site. The call of adventure was obviously too much and Peter was headhunted to assist in setting up the Combined Air Transport Operation in Kandahar, Afghanistan. This involved the handling of all aircraft, arriving at the airfield, operated by the international community in support of the military mission within Afghanistan. Following three and a half years in Kandahar he was recruited for a company in Dubai to set up an operations cell to transport fresh fruit and vegetables by air into Afghanistan. This was followed by a year back in the UK before setting out again. This time he was based at Baghdad International Airport, Iraq as Air Operations Manager for a company providing air transport to the US embassy and contractors.

Peter is currently employed by CSAD as Resource Logistics Officer where his responsibilities include the management of student work spaces, control of resources and materials for use by students and any other duties as detailed—– an old expression that covers a multitude of sins.
