Interactive Technologies in Learning Environments

Professor Gary Beauchamp, Director of Research of Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy secured European Commission funding for a project on the use of Interactive Technologies in Learning Environments with an emphasis on language teaching.

The project was coordinated by the Linguapolis Centre of the University of Antwerp and involved 7 partners from the EU 27 and Turkey. There is a clear trend towards the increased use of ICT in Schools throughout Europe, and the use of interactive whiteboards as one such medium has increased enormously.

Interactive White Boards fit the general principles for the effective use of ICT and interactive technologies in schools. Cardiff Met's role was to develop research tools for the project, to collect data relating to primary school teaching in Wales and provide quality assurance and liaison with the external project evaluator.
