Here at the Centre we offer numerous opportunities to develop your entrepreneurial skills through our extensive series of events. However, we know that some students are continually looking for new ways to develop their skills and to take that next step.
Below you will find a number of opportunities that are available to you as an entrepreneur from courses within Cardiff Met to external events and programmes.
Big Ideas Wales Bootcamp
Bootcamp to Business is a 3 day residential experience to get the essential business skills you need, including new connections, support and ideas from leading Welsh entrepreneurs, as well as support from your dedicated business adviser and access to to Welsh Governments Role Model network. Big Ideas Wales Celebrated
Big ideas Celebrated is a National Competition and Showcase of Entrepreneurial Talent in Wales for 16-25 year olds. This is part of the Welsh Government’s campaign Big Ideas Wales.
The competition is open to any 16-25 year old resident in Wales. Entries are welcomed from teams of up to 6 people or from individuals, and it doesn’t matter whether they are in education or not - it’s open to anyone of this age group.
So if you have completed an enterprise project or enterprise activity during your studies, or if you are running your own business, or developing an idea we would encourage you to enter. Cardiff Met students were very successful last year, bringing home two fantastic awards.
Virgin Media Business VOOM
Also know as Pitch to Rich, a great opportunity to pitch your business idea to leading entrepreneurs, including Richard Branson (in the final). There were not a huge number of entries in Cardiff last year, so this would be a great chance to take your idea to the next level.

Cardiff Start provides a series of events and a network for tech entrepreneurs in Cardiff and the surrounding areas. Their events range from Open Source Hackathons to talks from successful tech entrepreneurs. Take a look at their events calendar for full details on future events. The Pitch is marketed as the UK's largest pitching competition. It's a great way to test out your business idea and get support and investment into your business.

FSB - Support, Events and Awards
The FSB (Federation of Small Businesses is the largest body in the UK representing small businesses. Membership of the FBS brings many rewards. The FSB are also very active in South Wales and run a number of networking events, these are for free or with a low fee. They also have business awards, more details here.
