Recognising Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognising Prior Learning (RPL) is a process which allows education providers to value knowledge, skills and experience of individuals regardless of where they have been acquired. These competencies may have been formally achieved through an educational institution or obtained informally through the workplace, hobbies or interests. By recognising this learning and experience, individuals can gain academic credit which can be used to enhance their learning journey or career prospects.

The RPL Wales Project offers individuals the chance to accredit their learning and experience through an RPL Application process.

A RPL application consists of the following 5 steps:

  1. Expression of interest – Click here! or call to speak to our RPL advisers on 029 2020 1559

  2. Enrolment onto a course/programme – if you are ready to enrol onto a module please click here

  3. RPL application – we will supply you with the RPL Application pack once we have confirmed with you the module/s you are enrolled on

  4. Submission and assessment

  5. Notification and award

For further information on the RPL process, how to apply, and to download our online information brochures, please see the RPL Wales Project website.
