We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation. Ensuring the safety and welfare of our staff and students is our priority.
The University's Covid-19 Planning and Response Group is keeping our approach to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) situation under close review. Our decision making is based on the importance of safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our staff, students and visitors, who are our top priority.
We are in close contact with Public Health Wales and other official government bodies. The latest information including the latest travel advice is available from the Public Health Wales and Welsh Government, Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England (PHE), and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) .
In order to support the national drive to limit the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus), we have taken the decision to limit access to our four university campuses after 16.00 on Tuesday 24 March to ‘Key Workers’ and ‘Residential Students’.
The FAQs below provide the latest health advice and support, along with additional guidance for applicants, students and staff. We will update these pages daily and continue to email students and staff with the latest guidance.
No access to student accommodation on campus
Travel to and within Wales is still not permitted by the Welsh Government so students should not attempt to return to student accommodation on campus for any reason. There is no need to be concerned about collecting your belongings as your room will remain secured. We have ensured that all accommodation blocks on campus are locked and access to buildings is restricted to authorised key workers only. We will notify you as soon as the situation changes in Wales.
We have prioritised the health and wellbeing of our students and staff throughout this crisis and moving students and parents around campuses and student accommodation requires careful management if social distancing is to be maintained. We are developing procedures to safely manage the collection of belongings so that we are ready to go as soon as the Welsh Government allows it.
Please do not travel to campus without this prior approval, as we are not be permitted to allow access to any room. We advise that you please keep checking your emails and our website for more information.
