Profile

I lead both the PGCE Design Technology and PGCE ICT and Computing courses at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I am a staff elected member to SMPT and I have sat on a wide range of academic boards including Athena Swan, Learning and Teaching and Research and Enterprise. I joined Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2003 to teach both ICT and Design Technology on our three year primary undergraduate course. I was a year tutor and senior link tutor for this course. I have recently completed work for the Welsh Government that embeds Digital Literacy within compulsory and post compulsory education. In 2016 I was awarded the Design and Technology Association Excellence Awards for Teacher Training Design and Technology Award and more recently I was appointed as a Welsh Government expert to review GCSE, As and A level Design and Technology qualifications for Wales.

Previously I taught ICT and Design Technology in a range of schools in South Wales as well as working for a substantial amount of time leading a Design and Multimedia department in the FE sector.

I have undertaken inspection work for Estyn as well as curriculum consultancy work for ACCAC and Welsh Government. I continue to work very closely with both primary and secondary schools which also includes A level examination work in a range of assessment roles.
