As a Senior Technician within Cardiff School of Education, my support role includes installing and mounting work for exhibitions, both internally and externally, all procurement, technical support across a range of mediums, the maintaining and running of the art and design workshops. I am Health and safety leader for our area within the school. My role also involves various technical requirements across the School of Education. I hold a masters in ceramics, I have a strong ethos towards encouraging ceramics within the school setting. I have a degree in Design Craft, I have a range of skills across a number of mediums, textiles, print, laser cutting, painting and drawing.
I am also a qualified teacher of Art; I deliver workshops on the PGCE program and have also lectured at both degree and post graduate level. I have also delivered workshops to Primary and Secondary students with a range of abilities and learning needs..
I am the lead tutor for the Sorrell Saturday workshops, a collaborative project between the school of Education and the School of Art and Design. Delivering Saturday art workshops to 14-16 year olds. I develop a range of projects across the 30 week program encouraging young individuals to engage in art practice and develop their skills across a range of mediums. Leading a team of PGCE art and Design Secondary students, the project also acts as a tool for PGCE students to gain knowledge in other areas of art practice.
I continue to develop my own art practice and exhibit annually.
