Prior to joining the Cardiff School of Education I worked as a teacher in  Secondary and Primary Education, gaining a Masters in Education in 1988 from the University of Wales.

I joined the Cardiff School of Education in 1991 as a Lecturer in Primary Mathematics and Science. 

I taught Mathematics and Education on the BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS 4 Year and 3 Year Courses. I was also the Mathematics Subject Leader on a previous PGCE Primary Course.

I was the Programme Director for a Refresher/Conversion Teachers Course for a number of years. I have also lectured on the BA Hons Education Studies Course.

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education and Professional Development on the PGCE Primary Course.
