Gayle has been teaching on the BSc (Hons) Environmental Health degree for 5 years and during this time has become a fellow of the Higher Education Academy by undertaking a post graduate certificate in teaching for higher education. Gayle is currently engaged on a Higher Education Academy teaching excellence programme and continues to focus her development in this key area of higher education. She also delivers teaching on the MSc in Occupational Health Safety and Wellbeing, MSc in Applied Public Health and will also teach on the BSc Public Health degree to be launched in 2017.
Gayle has also had the opportunity to deliver teaching sessions in Institutions both in Europe and Africa and continues to foster these partnerships.
Gayle studied Environmental Health at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (now Cardiff Metropolitan University before working for several years in the public sector dealing with Environmental Protection related issues including nuisance investigation, air quality, environmental health policy and strategy, as well as specialising in noise control and environmental acoustics. Gayle then moved into a broader public health role as manager of a strategic public health partnership. She holds a Masters in Public Health from Cardiff University and post graduate certificate in Acoustics and noise control engineering. During her time in practice, Gayle developed a research interest in the quality of life impacts of the environmental health services she worked in and is currently undertaking a PhD entitled; 'Neighbourhood Noise Management In Wales - Developing Evidence Based Intervention Strategies To Safeguard Public Health And Quality Of Life.'
