 Mel joined the teaching team at Cardiff Metropolitan in August 2016. She lectures at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.  She is the Program Director for the BSc (Hons) Public Health course and module leader for a number of Public Health modules on both the BSc (Hons) Environmental Health and the MSc in Applied public Health.

Mel has an Masters in Public Health and is a member of the Faculty of public health as is currently working towards her Fellowship of the Higher Education Teaching Academy.

Mel was awarded her PhD from Coventry University in 2005. Her research was based on Allergy to indoor fungi and Asthma. 



Mel research interest focus on the outdoor environment and wellbeing, infectious disease epidemiology and service improvement.
