Peter Broughton Ltd is a fresh produce wholesaler, which has been operating for over 60 years from its warehouse, located in the centre of Cardiff. The range of products
stored, packaged, distributed and wholesaled by Peter Broughton Ltd include fresh fruit, vegetables, salads, eggs, nuts, dairy products and ambient stable goods such as bread, cooking oils, soft drinks and tinned goods. The company owns an extensive fleet of over 20 vehicles, which distribute the range of chilled and ambient products to customers throughout South, West and Mid Wales.

ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre has worked in partnership with Peter Broughton Ltd since 2009. In 2017 ZERO2FIVE continued to support the company by delivering two project HELIX partnership programmes. The support provided by ZERO2FIVE primarily focused on technical support in preparation for the company’s upcoming audit against the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution, Issue 3 - a new issue of the standard, published at the end of 2016.
ZERO2FIVE supported Peter Broughton Ltd by completing the following:
Diagnostic review of existing quality management system (QMS) along with related policies
and procedures to identify gaps and highlight areas for improvement to ensure the key changes between standards are addressed.
Mentor the company's technical representative in the compliance requirements of the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution changes.
Provide knowledge transfer in best practice procedures.
Evaluate the effectiveness of mentoring via completion of internal audits and by verifying internal audit corrective actions.

In October 2017, Peter Broughton Ltd successfully achieved certification against Issue 3 of the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution. ZERO2FIVE continues to develop its relationship with Peter Broughton Ltd by providing independent technical and food safety support.
