Students from Australia attend Cardiff Met winter school

Students from Charles Sturt University (CSU) in Australia visited Cardiff Met in December to attend a winter school, hosted by the Cardiff School of Art and Design (CSAD).

The students from CSU spent two weeks studying different topics in CSAD from calligraphy and ceramics to screen printing and studio practice. They put their illustration skills to the test by designing a Penguin book cover as part of the Penguin Random House Student Design AwardThe students also went on trips to the Design Museum in London and visited Cardiff Castle.

Due to the success and positive feedback from this winter school, Cardiff Met plans to hold an annual bespoke winter school for CSU in future with the possibility of including the Cardiff School of Health Sciences. There are also plans for Cardiff Met students to travel to Australia for a summer school at CSU.
