Fields of Study and Inter-Institutional Agreements

It is important to note that no mobility can take place between Cardiff Met and higher education institutions in partner countries unless an inter-institutional agreement has been established and signed between them.

Please click the tabs below for further information on fields of study and inter-institutional agreements.

Fields of Study

Type of Mobility Subject area/ Activities
Student (Study)

Student mobility will be dependant on the available courses at Cardiff Met and other participating partner institutions.

To ensure high-quality mobility activities with maximum impact on students, the mobility activity has to be compatible with the student's degree-related learning and personal development needs. The study period abroad must be part of the student's study programme to complete a degree at Bachelor or Master level.

Please contact the Project Contact Person at your home (sending) institution or the relevant host (receiving) university directly for a list of available courses.

Student (Traineeship)

Not available as part of the International Credit Mobility Project.

Outgoing Cardiff Met students - please check the Erasmus+ Europe page for available traineeships in Europe.

Staff (Teaching)This activity allows staff to teach at a partner HEI abroad and vice-versa. Staff mobility for teaching can be in any subject area/academic discipline available for exchanges through the project. A period abroad can combine teaching and training activities.
Staff (Training)This activity supports the professional development of HEI teaching and professional services staff in the form of training events abroad (excluding conferences) and job shadowing/observation periods/training at Cardiff Met and any partner HEI, or at another relevant organisation abroad. A period abroad can combine teaching and training activities.

Inter-Institutional Agreements

Partner Country HEIs must sign an Inter-Institutional Agreement (International Version), with Cardiff Met, as they will not have been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) prior to any mobilities commencing.

  • Cardiff Met has several pre-set agreements with international partners within each of the countries that are available for funding. The complete list of current partner universities within each partner country can be accessed through the Partner Countries page.
  • Cardiff Met students and staff can submit an application through the call for applications to study, teach and/or train at these institutions. Likewise, we welcome applications from students/staff from partner institutions to come to Cardiff Met through the call for applications.
