The Mobility Grant

International Credit Mobility Projects at Cardiff Met are always 24 months long.

Please click the tabs below for further information including mobility durations, what the grant covers and much more.

Types of Mobilities

Types of mobilities available for students and staff from both UK and Partner countries:

Student Mobility

  • Study mobility to and from International Partner Higher Education Institutions (outside of Europe) from 3 to 12 months.
  • Student mobility for traineeships (work placements) to and from International Partner Countries (outside of Europe) in an enterprise or any other relevant workplace from 2 to 12 months. (Not available as part of the 2015 and 2016 Call)

The same student may participate in mobility periods totalling up to 12 months maximum per each cycle of study, independently from the number and type of mobility activities.

Participation with a zero-grant from EU funds counts as well towards this maximum duration.

Staff Mobility

  • Staff mobility for teaching to and from Partner Countries
  • Staff mobility for training to and from Partner Countries

Staff mobility activities can last from 5 days to 2 months, excluding travel time. Cardiff Met mobilities usually funds 7 day staff exchange mobilities (5 days working plus 2 days travel). Please contact the Erasmus+ ICM Coordinator at Cardiff Met for more information on staff mobility durations.

Funding can be used to support HEI staff engaged in both teaching and non-teaching roles. In all cases, a teaching activity has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week (or any shorter period of stay).
