Airport Welcome and Drop-Off

 

Cardiff Met operates an airport welcome service where representatives of the University can meet you at Heathrow Airport and take you to your accommodation in Cardiff. 
 
This service will be ONLY be available from He​athrow Airport:
 
Cardiff School of Health Sciences airport pick up will take place on Saturday 24th June 2017. 
 
Cardiff School of Art & Design, Education & Sport airport pick up will take place on Saturday 15th July 2017.
 
Please note that the airport pick up will leave Heathrow airport at 6pm (subject to change).
 
If you wish to use the service, please ensure that your UK arrival airport is London Heathrow. If your arrival airport is different to the above, the team will be able to provide you with guidance and support on how to make your way to Cardiff, including how to get to your accommodation.
 
Cardiff Met also offers an airport drop-off service where a bus will be provided to take you to Heathrow airport from your accommodation in Cardiff.
 
Cardiff School of Health Sciences airport drop-off will take place on Saturday 8th July 2017.
 
Cardiff School of Art & Design, Education & Sport airport drop-off will take place on Saturday 29th July 2017.
 
Please note that the airport drop-off will leave for Heathrow airport, time to be confirmed.
 
If you wish to use the service, please ensure that your UK departure airport is London Heathrow.

Cardiff School of Management 

Airport pickup will be held on the Saturday 1st July from London Heathrow only. Exact time will be confirmed soon. 

Airport drop-off will take place on the Saturday 15th July - exact time to be confirmed closer to the time. The drop-off will only be to London Heathrow, therefore please ensure that your flights arrive and leave from this airport if you wish to use the service.

What if you do not use the Airport Pick Up or Drop Off Service?

Students who arrive or depart outside those dates for which we are offering free airport pick up and drop off, there are a number of ways to travel to and from Cardiff from your airport. 


You can either book the ticket in advance online, or buy it at the bus station 

If you are landing at  Heathrow Airport, please follow these guideline:

Where to catch coaches:

Terminals 2 and 3: All coach services call at the central bus station, which is a short walk from the terminals and has lifts, escalators and moving walkways to help with the journey. The bus station is open 24 hours a day and the travel centre is open from 06:00 to 22:30.

Terminal 4: Coaches arrive and depart from Stops 13 and 14 outside the terminal, at arrivals level. Free transfers to the central bus station and Terminal 5 can be made from Stop 7.

Terminal 5: Coaches arrive and depart from Stops 9-15, outside the terminal at arrivals level. Free transfers to the central bus station and Terminal 4 use Stops 4 to 8.


  • The destination you will need to choose is Cardiff Coach station (Sophia Gardens). From there you can take a taxi (waiting outside), to your accommodation

There will be a train from Heathrow Airport to London Paddington departing every 30 minutes and then from London Paddington there will be trains to Cardiff Central every hour.

From Cardiff central you will be able to take a taxi to the accommodation.
