Marketing and Strategy

​​The Marketing and Strategy Department is a well-respected centre for the provision of marketing and business strategy teaching, research and entrepreneurial activities. It is is home to more than 20 academic with various academic and practitioner backgrounds which underpin our theory into practise philosophy.

On the marketing front, the department is responsible for various marketing modules and degrees, all of which have developed in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Ma​rketing (CIM). The department is one of only 25 Universities in the country to have been awarded the CIM 'Graduate Gateway' status. Our CIM accreditation enables successful students to gain appropriate exemptions from the CIM qualifications and to participate in CIM based creative and entrepreneurial activities.

In term of strategic business disciplines we offer the Cardiff Met MBA suite of degrees and boast particular expertise in Project Management. Our new MSc Project Management degree has been designed to meet growing industry demand and is currently awaiting accreditation by the Association for Project Management (APM) and Project Management Institute (PMI).​​

The Cardiff Met MBA 

The Cardiff Met MBA is an internationally recognised and respected qualification attracting students from the public and private sectors, from the UK and abroad. The MBA brings to the fore current thinking in management education and will develop critical thinkers with effective problem solving skills at managerial level.

The course covers the fundamentals of management education - a refresher for business graduates or an introduction for non-business graduates. Core modules then broaden and critically examine key business and management fundamentals, integrated with linchpin modules in strategic management, equipping you with the ability to think conceptually and holistically. You will also undertake optional modules, from a comprehensive list allowing for focus in a particular field such as finance, HRM or marketing, or a more general management focus.​

The MBA is offered through a number of innovative routes and specialist pathways including the full-time MBA, an MBA (Advanced Entry Programme) and an Executive MBA.
