Higher apprenticeships provide employees with a combination of on the job training whilst studying a higher-level qualification giving them the knowledge required within the workplace. Higher apprenticeships are available at a range of levels, from the equivalent of a Foundation degree, to a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree level in some sectors. Higher apprentices learn at work so are able to develop the knowledge and occupational competencies that are demanded by specific job roles and sectors.
Cardiff School of Management is co-delivering with work based learning providers on a number of Higher Apprenticeship frameworks to be able to provide the relevant qualification and the academic teaching skills and knowledge that are required at this level of learning. Our Foundation Degree in Applied Professional Practice is delivered with one of our partner institutes, Acorn learning and development and is now funded as part of the Higher Apprenticeship in management and leadership. It provides teaching and learning which is coupled with on the job assessments, making study more flexible.
