Sandy has taught on various finance, economics and business programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prior to joining the Cardiff School of Management, she was a Senior Lecturer at the Oxford Brookes Business School. She has obtained her Ph.D. in economics at the University of Strathclyde, where she was awarded a full scholarship (Postgraduate Research Studentship, Overseas Research Student award, and International Research Scholarship) to support her studies. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education from Oxford Brookes University. Sandy has designed, developed and delivered (as module leader) a number of new modules for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses including international finance and financial modelling. She has many years of experience of supervising undergraduate, Masters, and PhD dissertations, and has also examined theses at both MPhil and PhD levels.​

Research

Sandy's current research interests focus on financial economics, development economics, international finance and applied econometrics.​​
