A delegation of Deans, Vice-Deans and Quality Assurance experts from Science faculties in Saudi Arabia visited Cardiff Metropolitan University as part of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) UK Study Tour, in conjunction with the British Council.
The study and exploration tour helped to build on the strong lasting relationship between Cardiff Met and the Saudi institutions who visited the University.
The 15-strong delegation was welcomed by Professor David Brooksbank, Pro Vice Chancellor (Enterprise) and Dean of School, and Mr Aboubakr Fathalla, International Engagement Manager. The Associate Deans (International) hosted tours in all of Cardiff Met’s five schools so that the delegation could see the outstanding facilities the University has and what courses it offers; a special focus was given to science and research as the delegation were from Saudi Science Colleges.
Presentations were given to the delegation about quality assurance from Dr Julie Piacentini, Dean of Quality and Standards, and transnational education from Mr Lloyd Powell, Head of Partnerships. The presentations fuelled an extensive question and answer session between Cardiff Met senior management and the delegation, which was a positive end to the visit.
