Cardiff Met honoured at the Times Higher ‘THELMA’ awards


Three Cardiff Metropolitan University departments were honoured at the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards (THELMA) this week.

Now in their sixth year, the THE Leadership and Management Awards are a highlight of the academic calendar and a celebration of the best of the Higher Education sector.

The University's ICT and Halls of Residence team, Human Resources, Cardiff School of Health Sciences, Catering and Hospitality team as well as our International department were all shortlisted for an award at the prestigious event in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Human Resources Team – For their joint project with Cardiff School of Health Sciences and the Catering & Hospitality team in the EatWell Initiative.
  • Departmental ICT Initiative of the Year- For collaborative work with Cardiff Met Halls of Residence in the Hallsnet project.
  • Outstanding International Strategy.

The awards were announced and presented at a gala dinner at the Grovesner House Hotel in London.

Speaking about the awards, University Vice Chancellor, Professor Antony Chapman said: "Congratulations to the shortlisted candidates. It's fantastic to be recognised as among the best in the sector alongside peers from other universities for outstanding work in these categories."
