Cardiff Met receive delegation from the Philippines

Philippines delegation visit Cardiff Met

Philippines delegation meeting with Pro Vice Chancellor (International)

The University recently received a delegation from the Philippines, which included senior management from the Commission for Higher Education (CHED), British Council – Philippines, the University of Saint Carlos and Saint Louis University.

This visit was a follow up from a British Council training event that Cardiff Met delivered in the Philippines at the end of 2016, where University Presidents and Vice Presidents had training on internationalisation in Higher Education.

The Saint Louis University delegation met with the International and Partnerships Office and Associate Deans (International) to discuss current and future opportunities and were taken on a tour of campus.

Prior to this meeting, the University welcomed another delegation from the University of San Carlos in the Philippines. The delegates met with senior academics from the Cardiff School of Art and Design.

Professor Mohamed Loutfi, Pro Vice Chancellor (International), commented on the visits: "Cardiff Met are thrilled to be developing partnerships with universities in the Philippines. It is great to see the positive impact the training sessions from 2016 had for our colleagues in the Philippines and we hope that their leadership goes from strength to strength."
