Cardiff Met students first to enjoy World-class customer service training


Cardiff Met students with their WorldHost Customer Service qualification

​A group of Cardiff Metropolitan University students has become the first university cohort in Wales to complete the WorldHost Customer Service qualification – widely recognised throughout the hospitality industry as the gold standard in customer service training.

Originally developed in Canada, and adapted for the UK market by the People 1st Training Company, WorldHost programmes offer a comprehensive training toolkit to provide high quality training, suited to any business that relies on day-to-day interaction with customers for success.

Sixty Final Year Tourism, Hospitality & Events Management students at the university chose to undertake the Principles of Customer Service WorldHost qualification, affording them the same level of training that was given to the thousands of staff and volunteers involved in welcoming visitors to the London 2012 Olympics.

Speaking about their successful completion of this industry recognised qualification, Senior Lecturer, Elspeth Dale said:

"We're delighted to see this group of students complete their WorldHost training with us and to be the largest group in Wales doing so is another great achievement.

"Employability ranks extremely highly for us in terms of what we're offering students at Cardiff Met – having access to such a vocational qualification that is so widely recognised and respected by employers across the sector can only have a positive impact on any future job search – congratulations to all those involved!"
