Cardiff Met supports Pride Cymru 2018

Cardiff Met will join hundreds of other organisations across Wales this bank holiday weekend to celebrate and promote equality and diversity at Pride Cymru's 'Big Weekend 2018'.

Pride Cymru events will span the whole weekend and will bring together communities from right across Wales and the UK, to unite for this annual celebration of our LGBT+ communities. Cardiff Met will have a stand on City Hall Road (behind Cardiff City Hall) and will be taking the opportunity to celebrate our LGBT+ Community and promote Cardiff Met as an inclusive education provider and employer.

Cardiff Met's Civic and International Equality & Diversity Officer Martin Smith said:

"Over the last year, Cardiff Met has continued to place a firm focus on equality and diversity and to foster an environment where we value and celebrate individuals for who they are and the contributions they make.

"'Diversity' is now a core value within the University's new Strategic Plan and an increasing number of LGBT+ and non-LGBT+ staff and students have come together from across the University wanting to show their support to help shape a more inclusive working and learning environment.

"The Pride Cymru celebrations this weekend will be a fantastic opportunity for celebrating the diversity of our communities, bringing people together to mark this annual event in style."
