Cardiff Metropolitan University has announced that the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world's largest project management member association, has named it as a Registered Education Provider (REP).
REPs are organisations that have been approved by PMI to help project managers achieve and maintain the Project Management Professional (PMP) and other PMI professional credentials. Cardiff Met has met PMI's rigorous quality criteria for course content, instructor qualification, and instructional design
Project managers are increasingly turning to REPs for certification training and professional development, especially since median salaries for the profession now exceed £60,000.
Cardiff Metropolitan University joins more than 1,500 REPs in more than 80 countries. These organisations include commercial training providers, academic institutions and corporate training departments within corporations and government agencies.
Mike Snelgrove, Senior Lecturer in Project Management at Cardiff Met, commented on the approval of the University as Registered Education Provider: 'We are very excited to be working with businesses, organisations and individuals to build their project management expertise and therefore their capacity to deliver successful projects. Becoming a REP with PMI is something we are very proud of and reflects our continuing commitment to deliver high quality, high value training and professional development to aspiring and experienced project managers.'
Cardiff Met has an MBA with a Project Management pathway with other Project Management modules in Events and Information Systems courses. The course outcomes of Project Management are linked with the employability agenda of Cardiff Met. The University's focus on employability and graduate opportunities has ensured that 94% of its graduates enter employment or further study within six months of graduation.
