Staff Pay - no member of staff will be disadvantaged

March 18, 2020

A message from Professor Cara Aitchison, President and Vice-Chancellor

"As the Covid-19 threat continues to disrupt the University's operations, colleagues are understandably concerned about what this will mean for their salaries and wages. This is why we have taken the decision today to stand by our values-driven approach that puts our students and staff first, by committing to ensure that no member of staff will be financially disadvantaged by the disruption caused by Covid-19. All monthly salaried staff will continue to be paid their regular monthly salary as normal and casual staff who work less regular hours will continue to be paid in accordance with their normal agreed working patterns.

"To be clear, no member of staff will be disadvantaged and it is not the University's intention to withhold payment for work that cannot be undertaken due to Covid-19. It is important that we continue to work together as 'One Cardiff Met' during this unprecedented challenge by standing by our staff and acknowledging the dedication and professionalism demonstrated in rising to this most challenging situation."
