Swimming team show they are worthy in BUCS heats

Cardiff Metropolitan University swimming team show they're worthy of a spot in the top division with an outstanding performance at the recent BUCS Team Championship Heats.

Both the A and B Cardiff Met Swimming team travelled to the University of East Anglia, Norwich, to compete in the BUCS Team Championship – Southern Regional Round.

After being promoted last year the A team were entered into Division one for this year's heats. As newcomers in Division One, the team proved that they deserved their promotion by coming second, only losing to Bath University.

The B team are following closely behind and won Division Three by a large margin, and are set to be promoted to Division Two.

Going forward, both teams will meet the top 4 University's in the Northern and Southern Regions in March 2015.

David Tonge, Cardiff Met Swimming coach said, ''we are extremely happy with this weekend's results and hope to carry on the success in 2015 by winning more medals and getting our B team promoted to Division Two''.
