Two Cardiff Met students picked for the World University 7’s Championships

Two students from Cardiff Metropolitan University have been picked to play in the Women's Great Britain Rugby team playing in the World University 7's Championships held in Sao Jose Campos, Brazil.

Sarah Foster a first year Sport and Exercise Science student and Siobhan London- Hughes a Biomedical Science student in her second year have both been picked to play in the World University 7's Championships later this summer.

Both girls will be travelling to Sao Jose Campos in Brazil on the 8th of August to compete as part of the Great Britain Rugby team in the two day World University 7's championships.

Alan Sheppard, Women's Rugby Coach commented on the success of both girls, ''It is no surprise to see Siobhan Longdon Hughes representing Great Britain once again having played in the Kazan Student games in Russia last year as a Fresher. She is not only a credit to herself and family but to Cardiff Met in the way that her studies and Rugby have flourished hand in hand.

Sarah Foster a fresher this year, has worked exceptionally hard throughout her training to gain a first team spot playing at Twickenham in the BUCS Championship Cup Final. Sarah has a great attitude, commitment and discipline to her studies, rugby and lifestyle making her a prime candidate to continue with further England Honours!'

Best Wishes to Siobhan and Sarah. Good Luck to the Great Britain Team.''
