Wales’ only dedicated leadership awards are now open for nominations

The nomination period for the annual Leading Wales Awards, which seek to recognise and celebrate the role of leadership as a key driver of economic success in Wales, is now open.

The awards, in association with Cardiff Metropolitan University, are run by a consortium of Welsh organisations including the ACCA, CBI and the WCVA, and celebrated 10 years of success in 2014.

The Dean of Cardiff School of Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Professor David Brooksbank said: "We are committed to helping Wales' leaders engage with the serious challenges that impact upon them, so we are delighted to be partners for the second year with the Leading Wales Awards which celebrate the very best of leadership in Wales."

Barbara Chidgey, spokesperson for the Leading Wales Awards says: "In order to really build the Wales we want for future generations, legislation alone is not enough. There has to be a continued focus on growing leadership skills, capacity, capability and collaboration in all sectors in Wales. It is leadership that will drive forward the growth of businesses and the economy, regenerate communities and ensure that all of our Public Services deliver what the people of Wales need and do so sustainably. Highlighting and celebrating exceptional examples of leadership will, we hope, inspire others to take up their personal leadership mantle and to realise that they too can do it! We are therefore asking people across Wales to tell us about the leaders they work with who inspire them and are making a real difference in their business, team, organisation or community."

There are eight categories to choose from and nomination forms can be downloaded and submitted online at . The deadline for submission is 5pm on Friday 13th March 2015. (Follow us @LeadersinWales)

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 4th June 2014 at Hilton Cardiff.
