Research Governance Framework

The Cardiff Metropolitan University Research Governance Framework applied to all members of staff and students involved in research regardless of whether they are conducting research inside or outside Cardiff Met.  The Framework also applies to individuals not employed by the University but with permission to carry out research at Cardiff Met.

All Cardiff Met staff engaged in research should maintain exemplary standards of academic practice and honesty in all aspects of research by reading, understanding and incorporating the principles​​​ and practices set out in the Research Governance Framework into their everyday work.

Research Misconduct Policy

The Research Misconduct Policy applies to all individuals who are engaged in research at Cardiff Met.  Such individuals include staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as individuals who are not members of Cardiff Met, but who may be conducting research on Cardiff Met's premises.

Human Tissue Act

The Human Tissue Act 2004 established the HTA to regulate activities concerning the removal, storage, use and  disposal of human tissue.  Staff and students at Cardiff Metropolitan University must conform with the requirements of the Human Tissue Act in all activities involving the storage of human tissue.  In particular, staff and students should be aware of and adhere to the institution's Code of Practice for obtaining Informed Consent.
