Chris has nearly 30 years experience in the public and academic sector related directly to sport. Chris began his career in Somerset and worked for five local authorities around the United Kingdom rising to Assistant Chief Officer before moving to Cardiff Met. He now combines his lecturing and Programme Director role at Cardiff Met with managing the ongoing strategic development of the universities sports facilities, sports development and outreach initiatives. He has also built up considerable consultancy experience working for a wide range of public sector clients in the areas of health and safety, customer care, skills audits, project evaluation and training.
Chris is Joint-Chair of SkillsActive (Wales) and Chair of BUCS Wales
His ongoing enthusiasm for sport and physical activity has developed with age, moving on from team sports to regular cycling, occasional golf and ensuring that another season passes without his teenage son beating him at tennis.
