My research interests relate to the sociological issues within sport, most notably that of coaches’ power and social interaction in the coaching context. The focus of my doctoral work examines the social significance of humour and how it is used as a critical component in the negotiation of coaching relationships. More recently, I have become interested in the use of visual methods as a research genre to better understand coaching.
