Anna is a Senior Lecturer in Pedagogy and Physical Education (PE) and is the Programme Director for the BSc (Hons) Sport and Physical Education (SPE) Programme. After a period as a PE teacher at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg, Barry, Anna joined the University as a full time member of staff in 2011. She has since made a significant contribution to the development of the SPE Programme.
Anna has an emerging research profile and has developed links with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and Sport Wales. She has made a valuable contribution to the ‘Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol’ activities in particular the supervision of a PhD through the medium of Welsh and partnership links with Welsh medium secondary Schools throughout South Wales. She has also been active in developing ‘The National Physical Literacy Framework’.

My research interests focus on the development of high quality physical education (PE), physical literacy and young people's engagement in sport and physical activity. These interests include, developing young people on their physical literacy journey and creating an empowering PE environment. I am also particularly interested in teaching and learning in higher education.

Teaching and Supervision
I currently deliver on modules in the areas of pedagogy, physical education (PE) and athletics, predominantly at Undergraduate level. I am the module leader for PE and Youth Sport (level 5). I have previously fulfilled the roles of pathway leader for the Education Studies Sport and Physical Activity Programme (a course that sits across the School of Sport and Education), Year Tutor for level 4 SPE as well as Activity Leader for Athletics.
