Ellen Jones

Ellen currently delivers on modules in the areas of Sport, Physical Education, Health, Research Methods and Sports Pedagogy. She is also a Level 5 Personal Tutor and has supervision responsibilities for undergraduate dissertation students. Ellen is the academic lead for all tennis modules included across the undergraduate courses and leads the Sport, Physical Education and Health degree course as Programme Director.

Ellen has an extensive background in tennis having represented Wales and South Wales at junior, senior and veteran level. Before moving into her academic role she was a full-time tennis coach for 12 years and has a proven track record of managing a highly successful tennis academy and developing junior players to international standard. Ellen has held numerous county and national captaincy positions and continues to work closely with Cardiff Met Tennis and the national governing body to develop the tennis landscape in Wales. Ellen is a Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Coach Education Tutor and LTA Accredited+ Coach.
