Dr Ian Gardner

Lecturer in Sport and Physical Education

Ian is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Physical Education and Health in the Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences. He is also Head Coach of Cardiff Metropolitan RFC who play in BUCS Super Rugby and WRU National Championship.

Ian joined the School in 2016, following 21 years as a Physical Education teacher and Head of Department in Caerphilly. He is formerly Principal Examiner for WJEC AS Physical Education.

Ian is a Module leader for Level 4 Physical Education, Sport Coaching and Pedagogy and Level 6 Advanced Physical Education and Health. Additionally, he is a Level 4 qualified rugby union coach.
