Sylvia is a Technical Demonstrator for the Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage (SCRaM) Programme.  Her main roles include supporting teaching and the organisation of equipment used within the SCRaM discipline. Sylvia is also a PhD student who is investigating the effects of growth, maturation and training on strength and power in young female artistic gymnasts.

Sport / Coaching Profile

Youth Strength and Conditioning

I currently coach young athletes in the Youth Physical Development Centre at the University whereby my role is to improve their physical performance and reduce their risk of injury. My experience has involved physically preparing athletes from a variety of sports including: gymnastics, Trampolining, tennis and rowing.

Women's Artistic Gymnastics

I have coached artistic gymnastics for over 10 years and my experience has ranged from working with recreational gymnasts to preparing young gymnasts for selection into the Welsh development squad.
