Unconditional Offer Scheme

For 2018, Cardiff Met will be making Unconditional Offers to recognise our high achieving applicants who we know have the potential to succeed. We are offering the scheme on our Humanities programmes and will assess applicants eligibility based on GCSE attainment, predicted grades for Level 3 qualifications, together with a satisfactory personal statement and reference.

What does this mean for our applicants?

Applicants receiving this type of offer are fully encouraged to still complete their studies and achieve the best results possible. Achieving the best results in Level 3 qualifications will mean better career prospects in the future and may make applicants eligible for our Academic Excellence bursary. More information on our bursaries can be found here. It is important to remember that the results of Level 3 qualifications need to reflect an applicant's ability and aptitude as many graduate employers will take these into consideration when selecting.

Are applicants allowed to defer the place?

Unfortunately not, this scheme only applies to applicants joining us in September 2018.

Are applicants allowed to change courses?

This scheme is currently only offered on the courses listed below. If an applicant would like to switch to a course not listed below, we will need to wait until the Level 3 results are confirmed by UCAS to see if they meet the requirements of the course being requested.

BA (Hons) Creative Writing and Media – D3K2

BA (Hons) Drama & Creative Writing – J42W

BA (Hons) Drama & Media – 8GF3

BA (Hons) English & Creative Writing – QW38

BA (Hons) English & Drama – QW34

BA (Hons) English and Media – QP33

BA (Hons) English Language Teaching (ELT) and Education Studies – 56D2

What happens if the applicant doesn't achieve the predicted grades?

An Unconditional Offer means that the place is guaranteed, regardless of the final results. However, consideration for our Academic Excellence bursary is based on achieving high grades.

Who is eligible for the scheme?

All UK and EU applicants applying for our Humanities programmes for 2018 entry will be considered under this scheme.
