UCAS - Teaching Training (PGCE)

If you are considering making an application for our Primary PGCE or Secondary PGCE course, it's worth planning ahead and considering important dates and processes as many of our PGCE courses become full very quickly. You will also need to make sure you have done everything expected of you to ensure that you secure your place.

To help make your life a little easier, we have split this section of our website to help you identify the main things that you need to do both before and after you make your PGCE application through UCAS Teacher Training.

For 2018 entry from March 13th onwards, the application fee to UCAS Teacher Training will be reduced from £24 to £1. Anyone that has already made an application before March 13th, will be refunded the £23 difference over the coming weeks.

Cardiff Met is also part of a regional centre of teacher training and education which offers an alternative route into teaching - Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP).

The GTP is an employment based route into teaching in Wales which offers a way to qualify as a teacher while you work. You can find more information on this route on the following website;
