This bursary is available to students who have been looked after by any local authority or foster carers. The bursary is set at a maximum of £1,000 pa.
Full details of the student's support worker must be supplied and there are strict eligibility criteria that must be met to receive this support:
- A student who has been in care since the age of 14 must have been in care for no less than 6 months.
- A student who has been in care from the age of 16 must have been in care for no less than 3 months.
- A student who has been irreconcilably estranged from parents or guardians between the age of 16 and leaving school or FE College.
- Students must be under the age of 25.
