​​To assist with the cost of studying at University, Cardiff Met have created a range of bursary and scholarship schemes. Bursaries and Scholarships involve financial rewards that do not have to be paid back.

​Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Masters Support Package (HEFCW)

Award Overview

The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) has announced that it will be providing an interim Postgraduate Taught Masters support package totalling £10 million for students ordinarily resident in Wales and the EU starting full time and part time courses in academic year 2018/19.  For eligible students this will mean a tuition fee discount of £3,400.  The funding is for this year only until the implementation of the new Student Loans Company 's support package for Postgraduate Taught Masters courses in academic year 2019/20.

Please note: This information is subject to the Welsh Government formally confirming the funding allocation and could be subject to change.  The university is therefore currently reviewing its Postgraduate Scholarship scheme to devise a package that will benefit all students when we receive final confirmation from the Welsh Government.

Master of Research (Biomedical/Health/Psychology) Summer Scholarship Programme 

Award Overview
The School of Sport and Health Sciences is pleased to announce a Summer Scholarship Programme 2018 for MRes applicants.

8 week long placements will be made available during the Summer (up to 6 in number) for candidates who have applied to undertake an MRes on any of our 3 pathways – Biomedical Sciences, Psychology, or Health. The placement will include a weekly stipend and consumable costs towards running the projects.
Who Can Apply?
Eligibility
  • Must be an applicant on the MRes (Biomedical Sciences/Health/Psychology) programme for 2018-2019 entry.
  • Hold a relevant Bachelor level degree, or be due to graduate this year
  • Have gone through our application process
  • Open to Cardiff Met students and external applicants

 Interested candidates need to complete a brief application addressing the following:
  1. Applicant name and contact details 
  2. Potential Supervisor at Cardiff Met 
  3. Project title and outline project description (including a Hypothesis to be tested) - <500 words 
  4. Personal statement - <300 words
