Assessment Centre Staff

​​Stuart Ball - Needs Assessor.

Stuart carries out needs assessments for disabled students, students with medical conditions and specific learning difficulties who are in receipt of a Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).

Annie Horn - Senior Needs Assessor / QA.

Annie conducts Needs Assessments for disabled students with a range of diagnoses including mental health issues, sensory impairments, medical conditions and specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyspraxia. Annie also oversees the Quality Assurance of the Assessment Centre and day to day operations. 

Amanda Thomas - Assessment Centre Administrator.

Amanda undertakes the administrative duties associated with the Assessment Centre and is responsible for liaising with students regarding report approval and feedback, as well as communication with funding bodies. She undertakes some additional Quality Assurance work and is the first point of contact for students booking a Needs Assessment. 

Julia Elkington - Sessional Needs Assessor 
Julia is an experienced Needs Assessor and carries out Needs Assessments for students in receipt of Disabled Students' Allowance on a sessional basis for Cardiff Metropolitan University Assessment Centre.  Julia is a qualified English teacher and has an OCR Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties.  She is qualified to identify dyslexia and dyspraxia in children and adults.  


Gabriel Swatzell - Sessional Needs Assessor 

Gabriel is an experienced Needs Assessor and carries out Needs Assessments for students in receipt of Disabled Students' Allowance on a sessional basis for Cardiff Metropolitan University Assessment Centre.  He is an accredited Assitive Technology specialist and has extensive experience of conducting needs assessments globally.
