We understand that some students face additional barriers and challenges to securing that career relevant job after graduation.
If you meet our eligibility criteria you can access the GO Wales programme at any point throughout your course.
Eligibility
You must be a student under 25 years old, studying full time and answer yes to at least one of the following:
- I have a disability or work-limiting health condition
- I am from a Black and/or Minority Ethnic background (of non-white descent)
- I have caring or child-care responsibilities
- I have been in care
- I'm estranged from my family
- I’m from a low higher education participation neighbourhood.

We contact all eligible students who complete our form within 5 working days to offer them an appointment with an adviser.
When to apply
The GO Wales programme works best for those in their second and final year of study but it’s never too early to think about your employability.

Support
We work with you on a one-to-one basis, and will mentor you to find out the best option for your work experience opportunity.
You will receive support from the employer and your adviser will keep in touch during your work experience to check how things are going.
We are here to support you, help you grow in confidence and try new opportunities you may not otherwise have considered.
Opportunities
We create tailored, flexible work experience for students through our database of assured employers. This includes:
Work shadowing - up to three days of unpaid work experience where you observe someone in their role to understand how they do their job.
Work tasters - up to four weeks of unpaid work experience where you have the opportunity to learn about work and the working environment by observing and undertaking some tasks.
Work placements - four to six weeks of work experience getting hands-on experience or working on a project.
