The Welsh Government has announced that Wales will enter Alert level 4 of coronavirus alert levels from 20 December 2020. This is the highest level of alert and we must all follow the updated rules and guidelines to help slow the spread of the virus and keep our community safe.
During this time, our University will remain open. Our flexible approach to learning means our students can continue to choose how and where they study while restrictions remain in place. This flexibility has proved popular with many and we'll continue to work in this way while these new restrictions are in place.
When students do return they might find that some campus facilities and services are operating at a reduced capacity or will be closed. Our status checker shows which services will be available physically, remotely and virtually.
We have asked students to refer to the guidance that has been published on the student homepage, MetCentral, to help them plan their return to campus. The details are also available on our safe community pages. If students plan to return to campus, they will need to let their accommodation team know in advance so that they can ensure that accommodation is ready and utilities, such as water, are turned on.
Alert level 4
(very high risk) – restrictions at this level are equivalent to a lockdown and reflect the seriousness of the situation. Further information on the rules and guidelines for the alert levels can be found on the Welsh Government website.
