Living In Cardiff Met Halls

Living away from home for the first time can be quite a daunting experience, but we are here to help in anyway we can.

Halls Managers and their team of staff are present on both the Cyncoed and Plas Gwyn campus to help you with your daily needs.

Supporting each of the Halls Management teams are Student Wardens who assist with the pastoral care and welfare of students in Halls. Student Wardens reside on campus, with one living in each block. Their duties include being a fire warden, emergency first aid and complaints of noise or anti social behaviour.

Each campus has a Halls office which is where you need to go to collect your post, report room faults and pay your rent. They are easy to find and you will be shown their location as soon as you arrive on campus.

Cyncoed Halls benefit from being located on the campus giving the whole campus a '24hour vibe'. Apart from the numerous sports facilities, Restaurants, Coffee Shops, SU Bar, Laundry, Vending Machines and an IT suite are also available for students to access. The Met Rider and Cardiff Buses arrive on Cyncoed Campus every fifteen minutes and link with either the other campuses, the city centre or the student area of Roath.

Plas Gwyn is purely a Halls of Residence and is about a fifteen minute walk to Llandaff Campus. The facilities on the campus include a Film Lounge, Pool Table, Laundry, Vending Machines, IT suite, Multi Use Games Arena and there are  numerous shops, bars and restaurants nearby.  At Plas Gwyn there are numerous bus services that leave the village every 10 minutes (including Met Riders) and link either to the other campuses, the city centre or Roath.
