Biography
Helen Watkins is currently a 0.7 Associate Senior Lecturer at Cardiff School of Art & Design, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff UK. She teaches at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
She is a founder member of DIGIT Textile Research group
As a practicing Designer Maker, she has a specialist interest in natural plant dye processes and works with a range of fabrics, fibres and threads. She uses a combination of machine and hand embroidery techniques as well as hand applied and screen printed marks to create wall-hung and three dimensional pieces for gallery exhibition.
