My teaching focuses on two areas:

  • Human gait and biomechanics / lower extremity sport and exercise medicine, delivered to the BSc(Hons) Podiatry and Sports Biomedicine Nutrition, and to the MSc Musculoskeletal Studies (Lower Limb)
  • Research skills / Research methods / Evidence based practice to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate students across the school.

An additional focus of my work is quality assurance and enhancement, and I have conducted national and international programme and partnership reviews for my employing institution and others.


Broadly, the relationship between foot function and lower lumb musculoskeletal pathology, the epidemiolgoy and pathogenesis of lower limb pathology, research methods including the systemic review, and various strands of pedagogic research including student transitions to Higher Education, longitudinal induction, and development of an evidence based curriculum.
